Applications open for St Hugh’s Principal

St Hugh’s Governing Body is now accepting applications for the next Principal. It is seeking an inspirational figure who will lead the academic mission of the College; its day-to-day running and longer-term strategy; and relations with its larger community and other constituencies.  They will play a full part in the intellectual life of the College, helping to ensure that students excel and academic staff are fully supported to work together harmoniously in service of the College’s aims.

The successful candidate must be able to lead in a collaborative way, working with Governing Body and other staff to build consensus through good judgement and stakeholder engagement, and with a clear focus on the overall direction of the College. They will have excellent ambassadorial skills, and be a passionate and articulate advocate for the value of higher education and for opening up the opportunities that Oxford provides to as broad a range of people as possible. They do not have to come from a professional academic context, but must have an excellent understanding of the higher education sector, and be able to head an outstanding intellectual community.

Saxton Bampfylde Ltd is acting as an employment agency advisor to St Hugh’s College on this appointment. For further information about the role, including details about how to apply, please visit www.saxbam.com/appointments using reference FBPAA. Alternatively telephone +44 (0)20 7227 0880 (during office hours).

Applications should be received by midday on Friday 27 September 2024.
