Dr Tom Crawford to present his research at event in Parliament

Congratulations to Dr Tom Crawford, lecturer in Maths, who has been shortlisted from hundreds of applicants to present his research to politicians and experts at a STEM for Britain event on Wednesday 13th March.

He will be displaying a poster which summarises his work on the spread of pollution and how water from rivers is distributed in oceans.

The event involves roughly 180 early career researchers, and prizes are available in various research categories.

Tom’s research has been entered into the mathematical sciences category, with prizes of £2000, £1250 and £750 available.

He said: “I want to bring maths to as wide an audience as possible and having the opportunity to talk about my work with MP’s – and hopefully show them that maths isn’t as scary as they might think – is fantastic!”
