Home → Novelist Joanna Trollope named in Queen’s Birthday Honours
The College was delighted to see our alumna, the novelist Joanna Trollope (English Language and Literature, 1962), recognised in the Birthday Honours with the award of an CBE for services to literature.
Joanna won a scholarship to study in Oxford in the 1960s. After graduating she joined the Foreign Office, specialising on China, before training as a teacher.
She initially published historical novels under the pen name Caroline Harvey, but eventually she turned to writing contemporary fiction and achieved her first number one bestseller with The Rector’s Wife, published in 1991.
Congratulations from the entire College to Joanna on this well-deserved recognition for her work.
