St Hugh’s College appoints Lady Elish Angiolini as an Honorary Fellow

We are delighted to announce that Lady Elish Angiolini LT DBE PC KC has been appointed an Honorary Fellow of St Hugh’s College. The Governing Body voted to elect Lady Elish to an Honorary Fellowship of the College in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the College as its Principal for 13 years. She was a tireless ambassador for the College and devoted her unique energy, wisdom and kindness to strengthening the positive culture for students, Fellows, staff and alumni that makes St Hugh’s so special.

Lady Elish joined St Hugh’s in September 2012, and oversaw the fundraising and opening of the new Dickson Poon University of Oxford China Centre Building in 2014, as well as the significant increase in the College’s endowment. Commenting on her appointment, Lady Elish said, ‘I feel extremely privileged to have had the opportunity to be Principal of such a wonderful Oxford College – it has been among the most rewarding 13 years of my professional life and I am proud of everything we achieved together. I feel extremely honoured to have been appointed an Honorary Fellow which enables me to continue to be part of St Hugh’s wonderful community.’
