The Julia Wood Prize is a historical essay prize for Year 12 and Year 13 pupils, awarded by the Principal and Fellows of St Hugh’s College.
We are now accepting online submissions, please use this form in order to apply.
Pupils may enter an essay of between 2,000 and 4,000 words on any historical subject of their choice. The winning essay will be published on the St Hugh’s College website. More information about the prize and how to enter is on the Julia Wood Prize 2016 Poster.
In 2015, the prize was awarded to was awarded to Joshua Kimblin, of King Edward’s School, Birmingham. A further prize was also awarded to Mia Bellouere, of Lancaster Girls’ Grammar School.
